Nope Records brings you an upbeat house banger from the artist known as Stojac, formerly his psychedelic sound leaned on the trippy synths and IDM influenced wonder. Now he’s going straight for the club.
Brooklyn producer Ghost Puncher returns with the “Sun Still Rises” E.P on independent record label Nope Records. Featuring four experimental neo-classical influenced meditations reminiscent of classic film noir soundscapes, and modern composers such as Jóhann Jóhannsson, Nils Frahm, and Olafur Amalds, each track takes Ghost Puncher’s melodic approach to IDM influenced electronic composition, using lush string lines, crisp and bright symphonic instruments, further blurring the lines between the old and the new.
International experimental electronic music label Nope Records is proud to present it’s first compilation album “Volume 1“, showcasing a wide variety of sonic palettes from across their roster, with explosive remixes and fresh new material by established artists such as Stojac, Ghost Puncher, and Limerence. The record also introduces the newest editions to the Nope family – Shaquille McNeill (formerly of Golden Girls), Big Chungus, Pop Filter and Ninoska.
Stojac’s re-imagining of Golden Girls “Pool High” and Ninoska’s “Had No One” deconstruct the ambient format almost to its breaking point. Pop Filters “Stop Now” and Limerence’s “Bully” and “Drappy Hugs” remix weave a dream of late night dance floors and broken hearts. Big Chungus pushes his soundscape of future big-beat with cynical vocal samples and driving decaying bass on “So Talented“.
Shaquille McNeils “MUTATIONS 2020”, Stojac’s “Fear/Uncertainty/Doubt” and Ghost Puncher’s “Jam 2” lean heavy on the experimental side of electronic music offering listeners broken beats, wonky hip hop inspired bass music, glitchy rhythmic assaults & crystalline synth work.
Discovered by Nope Records within the giant endless database of music on SoundCloud. Arizona born, New York based Limerence possesses a dark electronic sensibility. Taking cues from other electronic artists such as Max Cooper .
His first official release through Nope Records is 2 driving electronic tracks that ride the line between dark and light with a gentle touch. Never to dark not to party too.
Brooklyn producer Stojac returns with an aggressive flip side to his MDMA-feels infused debut Drappy Hugs.
“Dank n Bass” is a nightmarish concoction of drill and bass, jungle and experimental noise art which shows off the diversity of Stojac’s music and keeps us looking forward to his next releases, whatever they may be.
Enigmatic Brooklyn electronic artist Stojac brings his nostalgic but forward thinking take on dreamy electronica with his debut EP, Drappy Hugs.
Stojac brings his listeners back into memories and experiences through his whimsical melodies, expansive soundscapes and infectious grooves – a time of joyful connectedness. On the single Drappy Hugs, you can feel the sun’s first rays hitting you rising above the ocean; Water Drops brings a calm after the rain.
“When I write music, I want people to see it, feel it, to live a moment in time. I want it to be a visceral experience.” – Stojac
